This is one of the first roughs I did for Journey to the Centre of the Earth. It was initially a cover idea but iam not so sure now...I always felt the human characters should not take centre stage in the composition, but should be small and almost completely insignificant in relation to the grandness of their surroundings. The environment they find themselves in is the central 'character' of the book...
