The Hyde Effect...

This is an experiment i tried the other day. I wanted to do something different, you know, a little variety. So i tried my hands at mono-printing and enjoyed it. You can achieve a much looser line using this technique and its a good practice exercise in relation to adding some energy to your drawing. This pic seems to have a kind of sombre atmosphere, a sense of genuine forboding, which pleased me. Plus i think the grainy look to it works and gives it a sense of age. The hand is a tad bit too small but I think you can just about over-look that particular fault...

Standing in the cold print studio in those overalls, getting inky hands and scrubbing them in the sink with a wire brush....that's dedication for you!
