Aftermath process...

This is probably my favourite painting of the three for the Addiction exhibition. Certainly in terms of composition and technique. I had originally meant to have furniture in the foreground, then at least a shadow crossing from the left. In the end it works better as a statement without these distractions. The concept behind this piece is really concerned with the individual once they have overcome their addiction (whatever that may be). How do they now fill the void left in the wake of their recovery? They are not quite ready to integrate fully into society, yet must battle through the hours ahead of them...
